How It Works

The Site Consultation is one of our keystone services for landowners in the process of designing and optimizing the function their property. During a Site Consult we walk your property together, identifying challenges and opportunities and context-appropriate means to achieve your goals. We may discuss challenges and opportunities such as:

• Passive water harvesting, drought-proofing, and regenerative terraforming to maximize the benefit of your site’s water resources
• Access challenges, and how to improve them
• Where to site and how to orient and build structures to maximize unique advantages of your site
• Micro-climate enhancement for expanded outdoor use
• Ideal locations for specific design elements like orchards, ponds, gardens, animal systems etc
• Where and how to expand food production areas

As part of our preparation before the site consult we will:

1. Review your Minimum Holistic Goal if you have completed on (highly recommended) and the background information submitted in your Foundational Site Assessment Questionnaire.
2. Develop a high-resolution LiDAR contour base map of your property and its contributing watersheds.

Deliverables include:

• Site consultation (generally 3-6 hours in length).
• Copies of all GIS map files created before and during the site consultation in KML format for 3D viewing in Google Earth (includes LiDAR contour layers and any additional mapped elements from the consultation).
  • High-res JPEG versions suitable for printing at poster size to create laminated base maps can be made available for an additional fee.
• A written summary of our notes, including a distilled list of best next steps.
